This charges the laptop okay, but there is a very large arcing spark when you plug it into the wall outlet. I don’t see any ill effects to the laptop or the cord yet, but this tells me that somehow the device is not properly grounded.

I’ve had 2 of the original equipment Dell-branded adapters die within a year of use on my wife’s an my own laptops. The faulty ones were the actual adapters that shipped with the laptops or came directly from the dell shop. For about sixty bucks or more — several times the price of these third-party ones.
So there’s absolutely no guarantee of quality when you buy the expensive dell brand replacements. It seems that laptop adapters are made to break eventually. So your best bet is to go with the cheap ones. These so far have been of good quality; no complaints here.

Although it is off-brand, this product works great with my friend’s Dell laptop. No issues thus far.

I bought this to keep at my boyfriend’s house so I had a charger in both places, great price, works well for my Dell 1735. The product description is exactly what was delivered. Quick delivery, good product.

I bought two of these for use my my dell studio xps 16 laptop. Much to my dismay, neither of these charge the battery. I would not purchase these if I had it to do all over again and I am in the process of returning them.
